A Day of Food & Community

We have decided to cancel our 6th Annual Sustainability Summit to be held at McMenamins Edgefield Hotel in Troutdale, OR on the 13th of September. The event highlights a major policy focus for the association, however, after an internal discussion, it was decided that cancelling was in the best interest of attendees and the community.

“We’ve decided that our efforts would be better used if we donate the food and space originally intended for the event to evacuees and emergency workers,” David McGiverin, President of NWFPA stated. The Eagle Creek fire has spread to the edges of Troutdale, OR and evacuations are continuing with no anticipated cessation. Over 30,000 acres have burned and the fire still grows.

NWFPA, working with partners Moss Adams, LLP and Oregon Food Bank, will be hosting food & drink for any evacuees or emergency workers in the Troutdale area at Blackberry Hall in the Edgefield Hotel from 7:30am to 7pm on the 13th of September. For more information, please call 503.327.2204.

Listeria Control Checklist for Frozen Vegetable Operations

Laid out in an internal audit format, this checklist was designed to work in tandem with the "Best Practices for Prevention and Control of Listeria monocytogenes in the Post-Lethality Environment" developed by NWFPA's partner, AFFI.

In an effort to provide our members and partners with the most relevant content, this checklist will be a constantly evolving resource as best practices are designed and implemented.
